Elizabeth Miller and Beatrice Morfit, two seniors at The Branson School, have spent the past several years studying immigration and volunteering at asylum shelters along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Their first trip to Nogales, Mexico, in June 2024 introduced them to the daily realities faced by families seeking safety and stability. Deeply moved by the experience, they returned in the summer of 2025 to lead an embroidery workshop for migrant women, creating a space where stories of resilience, hope, and transition were woven into every stitch.
